The leader among Ukrainian news agencies – IA “Ukrainian National News” (UNN) has decided to become mobile in 2018. Representatives of the agency have come to Lampa Studio for the clear vision, as well as technical requirements for the project.
As the result of painstaking work on the project for 4 months the concept, UI design, and two applications for iOS and Android platforms have been developed and released. Among the main points on which we have been focusing during the work was a friendly and intuitive interface, the ability to view various photo and video content, personal adjustment of news categories, multilingual mode, news search, “endless” news feed.
It is also worth mentioning the work with the Favorites in the app. The user can mark news he or she wants to read later simply in the feed. These articles will be immediately saved to the local Realm database. Thus, the user always has access to them even without the Internet connection.
It is noteworthy that Kotlin has been chosen as the development language for the native Android app. The application for iOS has been made in Swift.
The project on the Android platform has been released in April 2018. The application for iOS, fully adapted for iOS 12 and iPhone X, was released in July 2018.
